Welcome to the brand new Arthurian Preservation Project website!
"Irish Arthurian literature is a subject filled with contradictions. Arthur's fame, apparently first based on an historical Arthur and then on the Arthur of legend, evidently reached the areas occupied by Irish-speaking, peoples at a very early date, but there is no Irish Arthurian text, with the single exception of the eleventh-century Irish translation of the Historia Brittonum of Nennius, and no unmistakable allusion to the Arthurian legend that can be dated earlier than the fifteenth century."
